This unique initiative consists of providing a tourist information centre located in Station House. The information centre has the following objectives, i.e., to provide:
An information point for actual and potential visitors to the Cooley Peninsula offering details on tourism providers, activities, and services available (equipped with a dedicated phone line and high- speed broadband);
A meeting point for guided tours to the surrounding area and to Carlingford Castle;
A display of crafts and products available locally with contact details;
A business desk for ‘Meet & Greet’ when required by local providers;
Advertising space, including a super-bright led digital advertising screen.

We NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Carlingford Lough Heritage Trust is providing the venue, the staff, and the insurance for a season of four months this summer. To make it succeed for this pivotal season we need your support. We are asking that all businesses – big and small, located directly in Carlingford and further afield in Omeath and Cooley, and directly and non-directly tourism-related – support us in this endeavour to promote Carlingford, Omeath and Cooley and its businesses. Thus, we are asking for a sponsorship to the amount of €50 from each service provider. We appreciate that you might question the need for such a service; maybe you are a business located outside the immediate vicinity of Carlingford, or not directly involved in a tourism service. However, the multiplier effect of tourism, whereby money is brought into the area by tourists, and then filters through the local and wider economy, provides a sound economic reason. Perhaps you are a well-established tourism enterprise with sophisticated marketing and communication channels and feel you can thrive alone. Nevertheless, we ask you to support it in the name of the community of Carlingford and the wider area extending north to Omeath and South to Ballymascanlon. We ask you to help us send out a united message on behalf of Carlingford, Omeath and Cooley that we, as a tourist destination, are back in action after over a year of the pandemic, and are ready to welcome visitors as a community, cross-referring and cross-selling each other’s products and services, all the while promoting the peninsula. We appreciate that businesses have faced probably their toughest year in a long time, if not, ever. However, we believe that if everyone contributes it lightens the investment for each individual business.
