The National Chamber Choir of Ireland - Ireland's premier choral ensemble perform on Saturday 25th February at 8.00pm

The National Chamber Choir of Ireland presents "ELEGIES", a wonderfully evocative seasonal program featuring a range of choral treasures from composers past and present.

The NCCI has gained a reputation for the high artistic quality of its performances both at home in Ireland and internationally. A thriving force on the choral scene within Ireland, where it tours regularly, the Choir returns to the Heritage Centre following a busy international touring schedule including a tour of seven major US music venues in 2011.

The programme for the evening will be as follows:

Benjamin Britten: Five Flower Songs
Herbert Howells: Take him, earth, for cherishing
(our performance dedicated to the memory of Vaclav Havel)
Gerald Finzi: Three Short Elegies
Brian Boydell: Two Madrigals
Enda Bates: Pauper’s Lament / A Stealing Sadness
Frank Corcoran: Caoine

"Elegies" has been funded under the Arts Council's Touring and Dissemination of work scheme.
